Position Summary:
Responsible for route and network capacity optimization across the SpartanNash transportation network. Execute Enterprise Team routing strategies to consolidate purchase orders, drive cost savings through maximizing cubic volume and weight per trailer, maintain on-time service metrics through efficient route design, become proficient in the SpartanNash TMS Routing platform. Partner with local Transportation teams utilizing excellent communication and business understanding to resolve route changes, and exceptions with the TMS systems.

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, with a focus on Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.
Minimum of 2-3 years of Logistics experience in a customer facing operation or transportation and logistics operations role.
Experience with Transportation Management Systems and Routing Software including Ortec software a plus.
Routing experience across a multiple Distribution Center network.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with regional planning for driver fleet preferred.

Responsibilities and Essential Duties May Include:
Utilizes Route optimization tools to map the most efficient and cost-effective grocery distribution deliveries to SpartanNash customers.
Coordinates with SpartanNash Warehouse associates to maintain order drop schedules, and support fill rate metrics.
Implement route reduction strategies to reduce required capacity
Support continuous route improvement efforts to maximize cube and weight per trailer.
Identify cost saving opportunities utilizing the SpartanNash TMS Routing platform.
Responsible for updating/maintaining location specific information in the TMS Routing Platform.
Provide assistance to the DC’s on outbound distribution loads as needed.
Ensure all data entry is completed in a timely manner for each load in the SpartanNash TMS and external customer’s transportation systems (OMS/SWAT)
Routing of late orders special requests, pull a head.
Support DC/Warehouse/Transportation with order related issues.
Any other duties as requested.
