Summary The Traveling Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) provides safe, professional, and compassionate emergency and non-emergency medical transport services in a traveling capacity. This role supports diverse assignments across multiple locations, ensuring patients receive high-quality care during transport to hospitals, specialty clinics, rehabilitation centers, and other destinations. The Traveling EMT adapts quickly to new environments, integrates with local teams, and upholds all state, local, and organizational standards while delivering timely and effective pre-hospital care. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Provide high-quality patient care and basic life support (BLS) during emergency and non-emergency transports. • Safely operate and maintain ambulances and medical equipment in compliance with state, local, and company standards. • Assess patient condition, monitor vital signs, and administer appropriate medical interventions within scope of practice. • Assist with lifting, moving, and securing patients using proper techniques and safety equipment. • Ensure accurate, thorough, and timely documentation of patient care and transport activities. • Communicate effectively with patients, families, healthcare providers, dispatchers, and partner agencies. • Adapt to varying assignments and locations, integrating smoothly with local teams and protocols. • Maintain a professional, compassionate, and calm demeanor in stressful and dynamic environments. • Comply with all regulatory, legal, and organizational policies, including HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements. • Participate in ongoing training, skills development, and quality improvement initiatives. • Maintain a clean and orderly work area. Other duties as required. Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no supervisory responsibilities. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. • High school diploma or GED required; post-secondary education in emergency medical services preferred. • Current state EMT certification in an EMS Compact State in good standing. • National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) certification preferred. • Current CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. • Minimum of 3 years of experience providing emergency and/or non-emergency medical transport preferred. • Experience working in varied environments (urban, rural, event-based, or interfacility transport) a plus. • Valid driver s license with clean driving record; EVOC/CEVO training preferred. Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities • Knowledge of emergency medical protocols, basic life support (BLS) procedures, and pre-hospital care techniques. • Familiarity with emergency and non-emergency patient transport procedures, including safe lifting and moving practices. • Ability to operate and maintain medical equipment, ambulances, and communication systems. • Strong assessment and problem-solving skills to make sound decisions in urgent and dynamic situations. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals. • Ability to remain calm, compassionate, and professional under pressure. • Adaptability to work in diverse environments and integrate quickly with new teams and protocols. • Strong attention to detail with the ability to complete accurate documentation and reports. • Physical stamina to lift, move, and transport patients and equipment safely. • Commitment to confidentiality, ethical standards, and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Certificates and Licenses Required: • Currently licensed/certified in an EMS Compact state as an EMT, in good standing. • Basic Life Support certificate • Valid Driver s license with a clean driving record Apply tot his job
