Translators and Reviewers, Localization Group (Remote/Volunteer)
The Translation Commons Localization Group is looking for dedicated volunteer Translators and Reviewers to join our remote team. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including articles, videos, and technical documentation, based on your experience and availability. Collaborate with fellow language professionals in an international setting and receive recognition for your contributions with your name listed among other experts in the translated materials. This is a volunteer and remote opportunity, open to both students and professionals. Current projects require translation and review work from English into Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Russian, Spanish, and more. Responsibilities • Translate source material into the target language • Follow Style Guide and Glossary • Use a CAT Tool (Smartcat) for translation or reviews • Communicate with project managers of questions, issues, or delays with project Reviewers only • Review translations against the source content, correcting errors and • ensuring quality, consistency, and adherence to language assets • Note ambiguous terms for future Termbase development • Provide constructive feedback to translators General Qualifications • Fluent or native speaker of the target language • Experience or interest in translating or reviewing diverse content types • Ability to commit to volunteering a minimum of 2hrs a week when a project is assigned to them.
