We are seeking passionate and experienced Self-Contained Special Education Teachers to join our team of educators in providing high-quality instruction and support to students with diverse needs. As a Self-Contained Special Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the intellectual, social, and emotional development of our students, and helping them achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:

Plan, prepare, and deliver tailored educational programs based on state standards, district curriculum, IEP goals, and objectives
Implement effective teaching practices to facilitate communication, language, academic achievement, behavior management, and social skills for each student
Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and school community to provide specially-designed instruction, accommodations, and modifications
Develop and maintain accurate records, including IEPs, progress reports, and student data
Utilize diagnostic instruments to measure student progress and inform instruction
Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment that promotes student success and well-being

Requirements and Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university
Connecticut State certification with appropriate endorsement(s) (065, 165)
Successful experience as a special education teacher preferred
Knowledge of applicable Connecticut State and federal rules and regulations
Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
Ability to work effectively with students, parents, staff, and administrators from diverse backgrounds
