Transfer/Cost Basis Specialist

The Transfer & Cost Basis Specialist is responsible for executing transfer workflows and maintaining the integrity of cost basis data, ensuring accurate and timely processing of transfer and cost basis operations.ResponsibilitiesReview and process transfer paperwork accurately and efficientlyReview incoming cost basis data for completeness and accuracyMaintain detailed records for delivery and contra firmsReconcile missing, incomplete, or inconsistent cost basis informationTrack incoming and outgoing transfers, resolving issues and NIGO items promptlyResearch and resolve cost basis discrepancies, including tax lot breaks and corporate action impactsCommunicate clearly and timely with advisors, contra firms, and internal teamsPerform manual cost basis updates within aplicable systems to correct inaccurate or missing dataConduct daily audits to ensure accurate books and recordsProactively outreach to financial advisors to obtain missing or incomplete cost basis informationUpdate and maintain transfer procedures to support process consistencyManage escalations related to transfer and cost basis issues, performing root cause analysis and driving timely resolutionCollaborate with internal teams and transfer agents to improve efficiency and structureExecute core transfer work types for incoming or outgoing transfers with precisionSkillsMinimum of 1 years of industry experienceBachelor's Degree or equivalent work experienceKnowledge of ACAT, Non-ACAT, and DTC transfers and core transfer processesWorking knowledge of cost basis principles, tax lot accounting methodologies, and corporate action impactsExperience reviewing incoming cost basis and reconciling missing or incomplete cost basis dataStrong reconciliation skills with the ability to identify, analyze, and resolve discrepanciesExperience managing escalations and performing root cause analysis to drive resolutionStrong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a control-oriented mindsetExcellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate books and recordsEffective written and verbal communication skills, including proactive outreach to financial advisors and coordination with contra firmsAbility to prioritize workload, manage multiple workstreams, and maintain productivity in a high-volume environmentStrong collaboration skills with the ability to work cross-functionally to improve processes and data integrityFamiliarity with CBRS, the Cost Basis Repository SystemFamiliarity with Maxit or similar cost basis systemExperience in brokerage and bankingBenefitsFlex Time or Paid Time Off and Sick Time Off401K – 6% Employer MatchMedical, Dental, Vision – HDHP or PPOHSA – Employer contribution (HDHP only)Volunteer Time OffCareer Development / RecognitionFitness ReimbursementHybrid Work ScheduleCompany OverviewAssetMark is an investment adviser registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
