We are currently seeking an experienced Transcriptionist/Scribe to provide meeting minute summaries for various county boards and commissions.
Position Overview:
As a Transcriptionist/Scribe with Athreon, you will play a vital role in summarizing county board and commission meetings into concise, clear, and accurate meeting minutes. This position is primarily remote; however, you will be required to attend limited in-person meetings in Virginia to familiarize yourself with speakers and meeting dynamics.
Key Responsibilities:
Attend Two In-Person Meetings: Travel to Virginia to observe and familiarize yourself with the meeting format and primary speakers (all travel expenses covered).
Meeting Minute Summarization: Listen to multi-speaker recordings (with video) and create accurate, well-organized meeting minutes, capturing key points, decisions, and action items.
Meet Deadlines: Adhere to specified turnaround times, including standard, priority, and rush delivery options.
Quality Assurance: Review and refine your summaries to ensure clarity and accuracy, aligning with the county specifications.
Requirements
What We re Looking For:
Experience: 1-2 years of transcription experience, ideally with meeting minutes, multi-speaker environments, or government/board settings.
Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy, clarity, and summarization.
Writing Skills: Excellent written communication to convey meeting nuances and essential information concisely.
Time Management: Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines effectively in a remote environment.
Tech-Savvy: Familiarity with transcription software and secure file transfer systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in government, legal, or corporate transcription.
Knowledge of meeting minute formats and terminology used in local government or public sector settings.
Ability to interpret multi-speaker audio and manage complex or overlapping speech effectively.
