As a Transcription Supervisor, you will play a critical role in leading and directing our team of Transcription Project Managers and Legal Transcriber/Editors, ensuring that we consistently meet and exceed our clients' expectations.

Job Summary
The Transcription Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the transcription process from start to finish, ensuring that all jobs are completed to the highest standards of quality and that our clients receive exceptional service. This is a versatile role that requires strong leadership, customer service, and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent attention to detail and communication skills. As a Transcription Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing a team of transcription professionals, monitoring job boards and deadlines, performing quality checks, and formatting and certifying final transcripts.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and direct Transcription Project Managers and Legal Transcriber/Editors to ensure the team is operating efficiently and providing high-quality work and impeccable client service.
Monitor job boards, transcript calendars, and due dates to oversee the transcription process from start to finish.
Support with job track-in, job assignment, and transcript checks as needed.
Respond to client requests and ensure that all emails and calls are handled promptly and thoroughly.
Collaborate with senior management to establish and implement new policies, procedures, and efficiencies.
Communicate with the Litigation Technology Management team regarding any issues with digital reporter job submissions.
Problem-solve difficult situations without guidance or oversight and assist direct reports with the same.
Plan for fluctuations in staff to ensure the department has proper coverage during business days.
Review and approve timesheets and PTO requests, monitor overtime, and hold regular one-on-one meetings with team members.
Establish employee performance standards and track progress, assist with interviewing, hiring, and onboarding new staff, and contribute to employee performance reviews.
Develop training materials and hold regular team and/or individual training sessions to ensure that our team members have the skills and knowledge they need to succeed.
Provide suggestions on how to improve department workflows, policies, and procedures through process improvements and/or utilization of technology.
Assist in planning for team bonding events and activities to highlight our company's core values.
Handle urgent after-hours/weekend inquiries that have been escalated to our team.


Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
At least 5 years of experience in a customer-service setting, with a proven track record of delivering exceptional results.
At least 2 years of management experience, with a strong background in leading and directing teams.
Some transcription and/or court reporting industry experience is preferred, but not required.
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Great attention to detail, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
The ability to work well under pressure, with a strong sense of urgency and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Analytical and problem-solving skills, with good judgment and a flexible work schedule.


Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

Experience with transcription software and technology.
Knowledge of court reporting procedures and protocols.
Experience with team management and leadership, with a proven track record of success.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
