As a critical member of our warehouse operations, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient and safe movement of trailers within our facility. About the Role: Tractor Yard Switcher I As a Tractor Yard Switcher I, you will be responsible for transporting full and empty trailers between the docks and designated drop parking locations in the trailer yard. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will be an integral part of our warehouse operations team, contributing to the smooth flow of goods and materials. Key Responsibilities: Transport full and empty trailers between the docks and designated drop parking spaces in a safe and efficient manner. Conduct inspections of trailers before moving them to identify any mechanical issues or potential safety hazards. Maintain the organization of the trailer yard to ensure efficient and safe transport of trailers. Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the work area and warehouse. Perform other tasks, including pallet building, as determined and requested by management. May perform duties other than switching as assigned. Collaborate with warehouse management and fleet maintenance to address any issues or concerns. Operate a forklift and/or other PIT equipment within the warehouse, as required. Requirements and Qualifications: To succeed in this role, you will need: Essential Qualifications: High school diploma or GED. 1-3 years of work experience in a related field. Valid driver's license. Ability to read, write, and use a radio. Ability to work in a fast-paced atmosphere while walking and repetitively lifting 30 lbs. Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. Ability to collaborate within a team environment. Ability to coordinate and organize efficient and dependable warehouse processes. Ability to adapt to needs of role in different work areas throughout the workday and meet minimum expectations of those different work areas. Ability to read and interpret instructions from a computer screen. Attention to detail and ability to differentiate packages. Ability to work while exposed to the elements and in a noisy and non-climate controlled environment. Preferred Qualifications: PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) Certification, including Pallet Jack, Forklift, Double Forklift, and Switch Tractor.
