TPA Residential Desk Adjuster

Overview:

The Desk Adjuster will investigate, evaluate, reserve, negotiate and resolve assigned claims in accordance with client guidelines. The adjuster will provide timely, accurate, fair, and professional service to all clients and insured parties while maintaining a high level of production. Must have property claim handling experience.

Key Responsibilities:
Ā• Conducts thorough investigations, as outlined in the claim handling guidelines and best practices
Ā• Denies, settles, or authorizes payments to property claims based on coverage, field reports, and verifiable damage
Ā• Interviews, telephones, or corresponds with insureds, claimants, vendors, carriers, witnesses, public adjusters, attorneys, etc. to gather important information to support the claims; including proofs of loss
Ā• Sets proper reserves
Ā• Takes recorded statements as needed
Ā• Reviews and evaluates property claims for coverage and further claim handling procedures to conclude within required statutory time frame
Ā• Interpret policy language and evaluate coverage issues of multiple different policies and endorsements
Ā• Addresses diaries, emails and voicemails
Ā• Prepares technical claim documents and correspondence
Ā• Prepares report of findings of an investigation
Ā• Contributes to department efforts with an emphasis on team collaboration
Ā• Other Duties as assigned

Qualifications:
Ā• 2-5 years of homeowner claims experience
Ā• Guidewire experience strongly preferred
Ā• Must hold a valid claims adjusting license
Ā• Proficient in working all loss perils
Ā• Carrier experience strongly preferred
Ā• Proficient in Xactimate and Xactanalysis
Ā• Proficient in reconciling supplements
Ā• Experience in negotiating settlements
Ā• Strong writing skills related to policy interpretation is a must
Ā• Decision making skills and the ability to work independently
Ā• Familiar with a variety of field concepts, practices and procedures
Ā• Good organization and time management skills
Ā• Analytical and proactive claim handling skills
Ā• Excellent customer service skills
Ā• Proficient oral and written communication is a must
Ā• Proficient computer & typing skills - working knowledge of MS Office: Word, Excel and Outlook
Ā• Ability to speak Spanish a plus
