Timberland: Associate Designer - Women's Footwear
Timberland is a renowned brand committed to craftsmanship and sustainability, seeking an Associate Designer for Women's Footwear. This role involves creating innovative footwear designs, collaborating with teams, and ensuring product concepts meet brand objectives and market needs.ResponsibilitiesDesign and create footwear concepts on existing collections through pattern, color and material applicationResearch - Work within the parameters of the product briefs to support the category goals and objectivesTechnical Package Development - In conjunction with a product developer, prepares the approved design into a package of two and/or three-dimensional informationMaintain and provide a clear form of documentation and communication with team membersPresent project concepts, trends and inspirational stories in internal reviewsUtilize Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and Illustrator) to visualize and present accurate artwork and photo realistic conceptsCollaborate with Design, Product Management, and Footwear Development teams to execute project direction, product process, cost targets and deliverablesConceptualize and design footwear for Timberland precisely translating the product brief or direction into designs that meet highly functional, costing, and aesthetic objectivesInitiate and provide focused, feasible, functional, commercial, and innovative footwear concepts that are appropriate and applicable for the Timberland brandSkills1+ years of footwear design experience, with work industry preferredProficiency with Illustrator and Photoshop preferably in a Mac environmentOther basic computer skills including Microsoft Office ProductsExperience with leather, textiles, graphic, color, footwear or apparelCreative problem-solving skills to assist product manager to meet product and calendar objectives quickly and efficientlyStrong communication skills, and ability to communicate concepts with digital renderingsAbility to contribute and generate ideas with DesignersThe ability to respond quickly to multiple projects with strong time management skillsStrong ability to set priorities and manage deadlinesHighly organized and self-motivated, with a critical eye for detailThe ability to thrive in highly collaborative environments and build relationships with cross-functional teamsInternational and Domestic Travel, 5-10 percentThe ability to work in the Stratham HQ office a minimum of three days per week3D Modeling and rendering experience a plusBenefitsMedicalDentalVision401(k)Company OverviewTimberland is an American manufacturer and retailer of outdoors wear with a focus on footwear.
