Testing Coordinator / Technical Writer - Cybersecurity Assessments

We have an opening for a full-time, Testing Coordinator / Technical Writer - Cybersecurity Assessments to join our talented, dynamic team. The Testing Coordinator / Technical Writer - Cybersecurity Assessments will support a dynamic and exciting cybersecurity program for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Veterans are encouraged to apply. Duties In this role, a typical day will include: • Develop, write, and edit technical documents, including assessment reports, operational procedures, test plans, and rules of engagement. • Collaborate with Red Team analysts and technical leads to understand and document technical details of cybersecurity assessments. • Ensure all documentation meets organizational standards and customer requirements. • Translate complex technical information into easily understandable text for a variety of audiences. • Review and revise documents prepared by others and coordinate the preparation of those materials for a consistent presentation. • Maintain version control and document management for all deliverables. • Ensure all deliverables are submitted on time and in compliance with contract requirements. • Support the development of training materials and user guides as needed. • Coordinate and collaborate with system owners to collect information, resolve issues, and ensure alignment with project goals. • Provide input and updates within the Veterans Affairs (VA) ticketing system to support accurate tracking and resolution of requests. • Coordinate with Red Teams and system owners to schedule tests of known vulnerabilities. • Gather, analyze, and compile metrics for inclusion in the weekly deliverable. • Collect and consolidate statistical data for incorporation into the weekly deliverable. • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in technical writing and cybersecurity. Requirements • Bachelor's Degree or higher in English, Technical Writing, Communications, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field - equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree • 3+ years of experience in technical writing, preferably in the IT or cybersecurity field • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and terminology • Working knowledge of program/project management software (Microsoft Project, Jira, Microsoft 365/Teams applications, etc.). • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality documentation • Proficiency with documentation tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, document management systems) • Ability to work collaboratively with technical teams and subject matter experts • Strong organizational and time management skills • Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in technical writing and documentation Benefits Maveris attracts and retains talent of the highest caliber by offering opportunities to work in exciting and challenging environments surrounded by bright minds.
