Temporary Instructional Content Writer, Compass
Achievement Network (ANet) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping all students achieve strong educational outcomes. The Temporary Instructional Content Writer, Compass will create high-quality, standards-aligned formative products for teachers and students in ANet partner schools, focusing on content development and design for ANet’s Compass product.ResponsibilitiesCreate ANet assessment content and supporting materials aligned with content standardsDevelop instructional support materials:Research and analyze curriculum and content standards examples from states and external organizationsReview historical distractor data to identify common misconceptions for each standard or part of standardCreate aligned resources for common misconceptions, such as visual examples of student work that illuminates a misconception, or a narrative explaining a common misconception, its root causes, and possible solutionsUse feedback on resources to iterate and improve created materialsAdditional duties may include:Writing math assessment items aligned to standards, including but not limited to traditional and technology-enhanced item typesAddressing feedback on assessment item content from multiple stakeholders in order to reviseSkillsSolid understanding of mathematics state instructional standards, including Common Core State StandardsAbility to communicate ideas clearly in a variety of work settings, including internal/external meetings and presentations, using language that is relatable to stakeholdersAbility to create mathematical visuals that are clear and easy to understandAbility to organize workstreams and take initiative to get assignments completedWork effectively under deadlines and fast-paced workBe able to incorporate input from teams or external sources, including educatorsAbility to recognize needed data and understand how it impacts decisions in the work or roleFlexibility to learn and adapt to new technology to support the efficiency or delivery of workApplicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basisPrior instructional teaching experience in mathematics, with preference in grade 2-8Working knowledge of strong instructional practice in mathematics and assessment design principles, with preference in grade 2-8BenefitsPaid time-off401(k) plan with a 4% matchCompany OverviewANet offers more than products and services.
