Temporary Data Entry Specialist
Character Biosciences is a precision medicine company pioneering targeted therapies for polygenic diseases, with an initial focus on ophthalmology. At the core of Character’s approach is a set of company-sponsored observational studies that integrate patients’ genetics with longitudinal clinical and imaging data. Character’s interdisciplinary team spans clinical science, data science, statistical genetics, machine learning, and drug discovery, leveraging the company’s platform to uncover genetic drivers of disease progression, advance novel therapeutics, and define patient stratification strategies to enhance clinical success. The company is currently advancing two programs into the clinic for Dry Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD), with additional programs in earlier stages of discovery research.
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented Temporary Data Entry Specialist to join our team. This role is expected to last approximately one month, with the potential for extension based on individual performance and project needs. The ideal candidate will be available to start immediately (Early August 2025).
You’ll report to the Clinical Data Manager and collaborate closely with the Clinical Data Associate. The role will focus on accurate and timely data entry, with an emphasis on maintaining data integrity and confidentiality.
Compensation: $22/hr
Key Responsibilities
• Accurately input data into company databases, following established procedures and data entry guidelines
• Ensure completeness and accuracy of all data entries
• Maintain the confidentiality and security of sensitive information
• Quickly learn and adapt to new tools and systems
Key Attributes
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions with minimal supervision
• Excellent organizational skills and time management
• Proficient typing and data entry skills
• Comfortable using Mac systems and general computer applications
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Qualifications
• Associate’s degree or at least 2 years of relevant data entry or administrative experience
• Strong typing and data entry skills with a high level of accuracy
• Prior professional or personal experience using a Mac
• Experience with HIPAA and/or GCP guidelines preferred but not required
