Join our dynamic team as a Temporary Attorney, working on a part-time basis in the evenings and weekends. This remote position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the field of civil rights. As a Temporary Attorney, you will be an integral part of our collaborative team, working closely with clients and law enforcement to provide legal support and advocacy.

This role is perfect for attorneys who are passionate about civil rights and are looking for a flexible, part-time opportunity to supplement their private practice. With a competitive hourly rate of $25 and a minimum of 20 hours per week, this is an excellent chance to contribute to a growing organization while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide legal support and guidance on basic civil rights matters
Prepare and review legal documents, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail
Engage with clients and law enforcement via video conferencing, providing expert advice and support
Document and report on video call engagements, maintaining thorough and accurate records


Requirements:

Membership in good standing with at least one US State Bar
Interest in federal civil rights and constitutional law
Excellent listening and comprehension skills, with strong note-taking abilities
Private, dedicated workspace with laptop, internet, and video capabilities
Ability to commit to a fixed work schedule for the first 30 days of the assignment
Fluency in Spanish is a plus, but not required
Ability to work at a computer screen for sustained periods
Availability to work overnight and weekend shifts
