Responsibilities...
Ā Collaborate with school staff, teachers, and parents to identify and address the social and emotional needs of students.
Ā Conduct virtual assessments to evaluate students' social and emotional well-being, identifying challenges and implementing appropriate interventions.
Ā Provide individual and group counseling to students, fostering positive mental health and emotional development.
Ā Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with social-emotional needs, ensuring their academic success.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Ā Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
Ā Valid and current Michigan state social work license (LMSW or LCSW).
Ā Proven experience as a social worker in an educational setting or related field.
Ā Knowledge of virtual platforms and technology for remote counseling and support services.
Ā Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with students, parents, and school staff virtually.
Ā Ability to assess and address the social-emotional needs of students from diverse backgrounds and varying age groups.
Ā Familiarity with the Michigan state education system and regulations pertaining to school social work.
Ā Compassionate and empathetic approach to support students facing challenges and obstacles.
