Telephonic Nurse Triage Specialist - Night Shift

Join our team as a Remote Nurse Triage professional, where you’ll be instrumental in delivering timely and accurate medical advice to patients over the phone. Your expertise will be vital in guiding patients through emergencies and providing support during after-hours medical inquiries. In this role, you will assess patient symptoms, offer medical guidance, and coordinate necessary care... while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and patient care.

Key Responsibilities
• Conduct telephonic assessments of patient symptoms to determine the appropriate level of care needed.
• Provide accurate and timely medical advice based on established protocols and guidelines, adhering to the gold standard of nurse triage practices.
• Triage patient calls effectively, prioritizing medical needs based on urgency.
• Document all patient interactions and assessments thoroughly and accurately.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers, including physicians and emergency services, to ensure seamless patient care coordination.
• Uphold legal and ethical standards in providing telephonic medical advice and care.
• Utilize medical resources and databases to deliver accurate and current information for patient care.
• Communicate clearly with patients to ensure understanding and compliance with medical advice and instructions.
• Adapt to various telephonic medical scenarios and effectively address patient concerns.
• Engage in ongoing training and education to remain updated on medical protocols and best practices.
• Maintain a professional and empathetic demeanor in all patient interactions.

Shift Availability

We are looking to fill positions specifically for the 12 AM - 8 AM shifts.

Required Qualifications
• Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Must have a State of Illinois License or be willing to apply promptly.
• Must have Compact State Licensure or be willing to apply promptly.
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in an emergency or urgent care setting.
• Proven experience in triage nursing or telephone triage.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare processes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to assess and prioritize patient needs accurately and efficiently.
• Proficient in using electronic medical records (EMR) and telephonic communication systems.
• Critical thinking and decision-making abilities in high-pressure situations.
• Capacity to work independently and effectively in a remote environment.
• Knowledge of and adherence to legal and ethical standards in telephonic medical advice.
• Commitment to providing exceptional patient care and support.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays (with a focus on the 12 AM - 8 AM shifts).
• Ability to multitask and manage telephonic nursing responsibilities effectively.
• Willingness to undergo background checks and clearances for remote nursing practice.

Employment Type

Full-time positions (32 hours per week) with benefits and part-time positions (minimum of 15 hours per week) are available.
