About the position The Telephonic Critical Support Nurse (RN) position at Accredo involves providing critical support to patients and healthcare professionals through a remote clinical call center. The role requires triaging incoming calls, addressing medication interruptions, and coordinating communication among various stakeholders to ensure timely and effective patient care. This position operates during evening shifts and includes responsibilities for after-hours support, making it essential for the nurse to be available for occasional overnight shifts and weekends. Responsibilities • Triage incoming calls from patients, clinicians, hospitals, etc. • Intervene to address life-threatening medication interruptions. • Guide patients, caregivers, and clinicians through assessments of potential medication administration disruptions. • Troubleshoot issues with infusion devices and answer infusion access questions. • Coordinate communication between patients, caregivers, pharmacists, nurses, hospital staff, and physicians. • Ensure timely provision of products and supplies. • Document transactions in patients' e-charts. • Develop and maintain knowledge of all services, products, and resources provided by Accredo. • Identify trends and needs within the scope of customer/client contact. Requirements • Registered Nurse (RN) multistate license in good standing. • Nursing Diploma with 8+ years of relevant RN experience, or ASN degree with 5+ years, or BSN degree with 2+ years of relevant RN experience (BSN preferred). • Ability to work evening and overnight shifts as required. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). • Understanding of legal and regulatory issues in nursing. • Ability to compile data and statistics. • Strong customer service focus and counseling skills for patients. • Excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills. Nice-to-haves • Experience in a clinical call center environment. • Knowledge of chronic therapies and home infusion therapy.
