Telemetry Nurse (RN) in Three Rivers, MI

This role is based in Three Rivers, MI, supporting a 54-bed cardiac telemetry unit that handles complex cardiac cases including heart failure, heart attacks, arrhythmias, and stroke patients requiring cardiac monitoring. The unit also occasionally cares for overflow medical patients, providing a dynamic and engaging clinical environment. Job Responsibilities • Monitor cardiac patients using remote telemetry and direct bedside observation. • Administer cardiac medications, including drips, adhering to safety protocols. • Collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team to provide high-quality cardiac care. • Document patient care accurately using Cerner Powerchart electronic health records. • Manage patient loads with ratios typically between 1:5-6, occasionally up to 1:7 during call-ins. Qualifications and Experience • Registered Nurse (RN) license with a minimum of 1 year telemetry nursing experience. • Active certifications in ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS). • Comfortable working night shifts (1900-0730) on a 4x12-hour schedule. • Able to commit to every other weekend and 2 out of 3 holidays work requirements. • Willingness to live at least 50 miles away from the facility; local candidates are not eligible. • Adaptable to fluctuating patient ratios; experience with cardiac tele units preferred. Contract Details and Scheduling • Contract position providing 36 guaranteed hours per week. • Night shift commitment: 4 consecutive 12-hour shifts. • No call requirements; managers strive to accommodate block scheduling but cannot guarantee it. • The cardiac unit is actively onboarding new travel nurses weekly to manage workload effectively.
