Telemedicine Nurse Practitioner – Weight Loss Program (Multi-State Licensed)

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our telemedicine-based Weight Loss Program. The NP will play a vital role in providing virtual consultations, developing customized weight loss plans, prescribing appropriate medications (as needed), and monitoring patient progress. The ideal candidate is experienced in weight management, lifestyle medicine, and chronic disease prevention, with a strong ability to engage and motivate patients in a virtual care setting.
Responsibilities and Duties
• Conduct virtual patient consultations, including initial assessments, follow-ups, and ongoing care plans for weight loss.
• Develop personalized treatment strategies incorporating nutrition, exercise, behavioral counseling, and pharmacotherapy when appropriate.
• Prescribe and manage weight loss medications such as GLP-1 receptor agonists following state regulations and clinical guidelines.
• Monitor patient progress through monthly check-ins, review of data from cellular connected scales, and adjusting treatment plans as needed.
• Educate patients on healthy lifestyle modifications, addressing underlying medical conditions that may impact weight loss (e.g., metabolic disorders, diabetes, hypertension).
• Document all patient interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with HIPAA and MDWatch standards.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest clinical guidelines and research on obesity medicine and weight management therapies.
• Must be willing to work rotating weekends for on call coverage (1x / month).
Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications
• Licensed Nurse Practitioner with active licensure in 12 or more states (Applicants must hold active licensure in at least 12 states to be considered.).
• Desired State licenses: AZ, CA, CO, CT, DE, FL, ID, IL, IA, KS, KY, LA, MD, ME, MI, MT, ND, NH, NE, NV, NM, NY, OH, PA, RI, SD, TX, UT, VA, VT, WA, WV, WI, WY. (We will pay for additional state licensing application costs and fees).
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in weight management, endocrinology, primary care, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of GLP-1 medications, metabolic disorders, and behavioral weight loss interventions.
• Experience in telemedicine and remote patient care preferred.
• Excellent communication and patient engagement skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
• Proficiency in using EMR systems and virtual care platforms.
Schedule
• Monday – Friday (Five 8-hour shifts or Four 10-hour shifts)
• Rotating on-call weekend coverage
Compensation / Benefits
