Tele Audiologist
About the position
The TeleAudiology Provider delivers comprehensive remote audiology services to patients and clinic staff via a secure video platform. This role functions as an extension of the in-clinic care team, providing real-time clinical, technical, and sales support to ensure high-quality patient outcomes and a seamless care experience. The provider performs a full scope of audiology services remotely, replicating the in-person experience through virtual care.
Responsibilities
⢠Conduct patient evaluations, consultations, and follow-up care via video
⢠Support and guide in-clinic staff through hearing assessments and testing procedures remotely
⢠Interpret test results and provide accurate clinical diagnoses
⢠Recommend appropriate hearing aids and treatment plans based on patient needs
⢠Provide patient counseling on hearing loss, device use, expectations, and care
⢠Deliver ongoing support for adjustments, concerns, and patient satisfaction
⢠Guide patients through the hearing aid selection and purchasing process via video
⢠Partner with clinic staff to support case acceptance and improve conversion rates
⢠Educate patients on product options, features, and benefits in a clear, patient-friendly manner
⢠Provide remote verification support and ensure proper device fitting and performance
⢠Troubleshoot hearing aid, software, and connectivity issues in real time
⢠Support clinics and patients with remote device programming and adjustments
⢠Assist with resolving sound quality concerns and device performance issues
⢠Provide technical guidance to clinic staff on equipment and workflows
⢠Work closely with clinic teams to support patient flow and ensure efficient appointments
⢠Act as a clinical resource for providers and staff needing audiology expertise
⢠Provide on-demand or scheduled support for clinics without on-site audiologists
⢠Train and coach clinic staff on best practices for remote care delivery
⢠Develop and refine workflows for remote testing, consultations, and sales processes
⢠Identify opportunities to improve patient experience and operational efficiency
⢠Assist in implementing standardized procedures for tele-audiology services
⢠Maintain high standards of clinical quality, compliance, and documentation
⢠Participate in insurance credentialing processes as required to enable billing for audiology services
⢠Maintain active licensure and credentials necessary to provide and bill for services across applicable states and payers
⢠Ensure accurate and timely clinical documentation to support billing and reimbursement
⢠Adhere to all regulatory, compliance, and telehealth billing requirements
⢠Provide real-time audiology support across multiple clinic locations as needed
⢠Ensure all services meet clinical, ethical, and regulatory standards
⢠Adapt to evolving technology and telehealth best practices
Requirements
⢠Master's degree in Audiology or Speech-Language Pathology with an audiology focus
⢠Doctorate of Audiology (Au.D.) degree
⢠Current state licensure as an Audiologist in good standing
⢠Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-A) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
⢠Minimum of 2-3 years of clinical audiology experience
⢠Experience with diagnostic audiology, hearing aid fitting, and dispensing
⢠Proficiency in using audiology equipment and software
⢠Familiarity with telehealth platforms and remote patient care technologies
⢠Excellent communication, interpersonal, and counseling skills
⢠Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
⢠Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
⢠Knowledge of insurance credentialing and telehealth billing regulations
