Technical Writer
Description:
This position will lead the development and improvement of detailed task information for application in a workflow automation system. This position will work with stakeholders to understand the task and summarize it with instructions and deliverables to convey the tasks’ requirements. This position will also develop forms, check lists, job aids, and templates to aid in the completion of these tasks.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
• Conduct interviews and workshops with stakeholders to capture detailed task requirements and success criteria
• Develop written instructions to summarize requirements and deliverables for process tasks, to be used in a process automation system, in accordance with internal standards
• Identify and develop sub-processes, job aids, checklists, templates, or other supporting documentation
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
• Bachelors degree in Technical Writing, Communications, Engineering, or related field
• Expert-level English writing skills with proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable instructions
• 3+ years of technical or procedure writing experience, preferably in utilities, energy, or industrial settings
• Strong interpersonal skills with experience facilitating stakeholder meetings and requirements gathering
• Strong Proficiency with MS Office software suite
Preferred Qualifications
• Six Sigma, Lean, or process improvement credentials
