Job Description
PST is seeking a Technical Writer with three (3) years of technical experience in collecting and organizing information required for preparation of user's manuals, training materials, installation guides, proposals, reports, and other systems/applications documentation.
• Develops, writes, and edits functional descriptions, system specifications, user's manuals, special reports, or any other deliverables and documents
• Manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic work environment.
• Work with management to diagram and document requirements and collaborate with the development teams to implement those requirements in their solutions.
• Create artifacts such as process flows, wireframes, mockups, mapping, and functional requirements that effectively communicate business requirements and that are easily consumed by Technology teams.
• Review, update, and document existing processes.
• Observes production, developmental, and experimental activities to determine operating procedure and detail, interviews production and engineering personnel, reads journals, reports, and other material to become familiar with product technologies and production methods
• Coordinates with staff and users at multiple levels to determine best format, fit and approach to instruction materials.
• Organizes material and completes writing assignment according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology and recommends revisions or changes in scope, format, content, and methods of reproduction and binding.
• Maintains records and files of work and revisions, selects photographs, drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts to illustrate material, edits, standardizes, or changes material prepared by other writers or technical personnel.
• Technical Writer reports orally and in writing to the Program Manager, Project Manager, contractor management, and government representatives.
Job Requirements
• 3+ years developing software technical manuals
• 3+ years working with application developers on process / procedure documentation
• 3+ years working with full lifecycle development
• Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Math, English, Business or other related scientific or technical discipline
• Desired Requirements:
• Experience Working in an Agile environment
• Experience working on Software Modernization Projects
• Experience working with Human Resources / Benefits / Payroll Programs
• Certified Scrum Master
• Safe Agilist Credentials
• Microsoft Teams, OneDrive for Business, Office 365 Groups
