Key Responsibilities- We are seeking a detail-oriented and experiencedIT Technical Writerto join our Utilities company. In this role, you will be responsible for developing clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation, includinguser manuals, how-to guides, FAQs, online help systems, and training materials. You will collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), IT professionals, and business stakeholders to transform technical information into easily understandable content for non-technical users.Key Responsibilities: β€’ Create, update, and maintain high-qualityend-user documentation, including: β€’ User manuals β€’ Software application guides β€’ System operation procedures β€’ Quick reference cards β€’ Online help content and FAQs β€’ Collaborate with IT teams, business analysts, developers, and project managers to gather technical information and convert it into user-friendly documents. β€’ Work closely with product and application support teams to document new features, processes, and tools used across utility services.β€’ Ensure documentation aligns with internal standards and industry best practices for clarity, consistency, and accessibility. β€’ Manage documentation versions and ensure updates are made in sync with software and system changes. β€’ Conduct user interviews or gather feedback to assess documentation usability and identify areas for improvement. β€’ Create visual aids such as screenshots, diagrams, and process flows to enhance written content. β€’ Assist in the development of training materials and eLearning content as needed.RequiredQualifications: β€’ Bachelor’s degree inTechnical Communication,English,Information Technology, or a related field. β€’ 3+ years of experience intechnical writing, ideally in an IT or software environment. β€’ Familiarity with utilities industry systems (e.g., SCADA, GIS, AMI, outage management, ERP) is a plus. β€’ Proven ability to write user-focused content for both technical and non-technical audiences. β€’ Proficiency with documentation tools such as: β€’ bolthires Office Suite β€’ Adobe Acrobat β€’ Confluence, SharePoint β€’ MadCap Flare, RoboHelp, or similar tools β€’ Basic understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.β€’ Strong attention to detail, grammar, and formatting standards. β€’ Ability to work independently and manage multiple documentation projects simultaneously. PreferredQualifications: β€’ Experience with content management systems and version control (e.g., Git). β€’ Familiarity with accessibility and usability standards (WCAG, Section 508). β€’ Knowledge of graphics or screen capture tools (e.g., Snagit, Visio, Adobe Illustrator). β€’ Understanding of ITIL or similar IT service management frameworks. Salary Range $35.08 - $55.38 USD (Hourly) β€’ Please note that the salary information provided herein is base pay only (gross); it does not include other forms of compensation which may or may not apply to this specific position, namely, performance-based bonuses, benefits-related payments, or other general incentives - none of which are guaranteed, may be subject to specific eligibility requirements, and are wholly within the discretion of Astreya to remit.β€’ Further, the salary information noted above is a range that consists of a minimum and maximum rate of pay for this specific position.
