Job Description:

The Technical Lead at Renewance plays a critical hands-on role in delivering Core Services at the highest levels of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. Known for their technical expertise and problem-solving ability, Tech Leads can independently identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues while knowing when and how to escalate challenges appropriately. Often working as the most senior team member in the field, they guide teams in maintaining safety and performance standards on-site. Tech Leads also act as mentors, sharing knowledge, updating SOPs and training materials, and contributing to the company’s broader technical knowledge base. With strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset, they serve as on-site representatives of Renewance, interacting professionally with clients and internal teams alike. As senior team members, Tech Leads may also be asked to support various operational or administrative tasks, both on-site and remotely, reflecting a flexible, solutions-driven approach aligned with Renewance’s core values.
Key Responsibilities

Provide on site supervision and mentorship for field service technicians and support staff, ensuring efficient execution of day-to-day activities.

Act as the primary point of on site/in field contact for technicians, providing guidance on technical and operational challenges on the job site to quickly and effectively to minimize disruptions.
Serve as the first escalation point for field service-related issues, working with customers to resolve concerns in a timely manner.
Act as direct EHS representative for the field, ensuring OSHA and all other regulatory requirements are being met daily
Work with management staff to ensure field teams are tracking toward positive operational metrics.
Build positive relationships with customers by ensuring high-quality service delivery.
Regularly inspect fieldwork to confirm adherence to safety and quality guidelines.
Provide regular updates to Services leadership on service progress, team performance, and operational challenges.
Ensure all project related administrative tasks are completed on time per schedule.
Provide primary administrative and work management support to field staff on week off rotation.
Support ‘cold’ commissioning (electrical checks using auxiliary power) and ‘hot’ commissioning of battery systems (energized electrical checks) and correct battery related performance issues including performing cell and module charging/balancing.
Provide technical support for fault isolation and troubleshooting during all phases of commissioning.
Communicate directly with the customer on all aspects of project execution including accurate and timely daily reporting.
Coordinate return and repair of defective parts in support of warranty claims
Manage field tools for field assignments / projects

Requirements
Minimum of 4 years of experience in field service operations, with 1+ years of technical leadership or similar.
Strong understanding of field service operations and ability to lead in dynamic environments.
Experience working with BESS or EV technology, or similar is required.
Working knowledge and hands on experience with LOTO procedures
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to resolve client issues effectively.
Skilled in identifying practical solutions to on-the-ground challenges.
Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
Experience with computers and installation of controls related firmware and software.
Fluent with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.)
Ability to effectively work as an individual but also coordinate and work with a team.
Fast learner and capable of executing multiple projects and objectives
Self-directed, highly detail-oriented, organized, and flexible
Willingness to travel and work with customers
