They are seeking a Technical Curriculum Developer to design and develop training solutions for skilled trades in Critical Facilities and Advanced Manufacturing, focusing on creating high-quality learning modules and maintaining curriculum based on industry standards.ResponsibilitiesModule Creation: Build interactive digital learning modules using Articulate 360 (Storyline/Rise) and Google Workspace that are fully integrated into the Canvas LMSTechnical Documentation: Develop comprehensive instructor manuals, detailed lesson plans, facilitation guides, and learner workbooks that provide clear, step-by-step instructions for complex technical tasks using Google Workspace AppsVisual & Multimedia Aids: Create technical diagrams, multimedia learning aids (videos, animations), and interactive demonstrations for complex systems to help learners visualize "unseen" processes like electricity and fluid flowHands-on Lab Design: Design practical laboratory exercises, diagnostic tests, and performance-based assessments for electrical and mechanical systems, complete with rigorous safety documentationCurriculum Architecture: Assist in translating technical competencies into modular, progressive skill-building sequences, moving from foundational theory to advanced industrial troubleshootingContinuous Improvement: Proactively synthesize feedback from learners, instructors, and field SMEs to identify pain points and drive rapid curriculum iterationContent Lifecycle Management: Manage the update cycle for existing modules: adding, updating, or removing content based on changing industry standards and market signalsGovernance & Version Control: Maintain meticulous version control and technical documentation for all training materials to ensure site-to-site consistency across national programsInstructor Enablement: Develop robust instructor onboarding materials and resource libraries, including technical reference sheets and troubleshooting guides for trainersCross-Functional Support: Assist with the creation of program descriptions and technical marketing materials for recruitment and external partnership engagementSkills1-3 years of technical instructional design experience1-3 years of working in or with electrical or electromechanical roles in industrial environments or data centersStrong technical background; able to grasp and convey highly technical subject matterAbility to respond clearly to live digital conversations via a digital engagement platform such as Zoom or an in-person training environmentStrong communication skillsA demonstrable understanding of Electrical systems, Instrumentation, and PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) logic and troubleshootingHands-on experience or deep technical familiarity with Climate & Thermal Management: Industrial HVAC, CRAC/CRAH units (Data Center specific), Chillers, and Cooling TowersHands-on experience or deep technical familiarity with Fluid & Hydronic Systems: Pumping systems (VFD-controlled), heat exchangers, hydronic piping loops, and water treatment/filtration systemsHands-on experience or deep technical familiarity with Material Handling: Industrial conveyor systems, sorters, and motor-driven rollersHands-on experience or deep technical familiarity with Facility Infrastructure: Diesel generators, automatic transfer switches (ATS), and basic pneumatic/hydraulic controls1-3 years of experience working in or consulting for Critical Facilities (Data Centers) or Advanced Manufacturing environments1–3 years of experience in instructional design or technical training content creationAssociate-level use of Articulate 360 and Canvas LMSHigh proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides)Exceptional written communication skills with a proven ability to simplify expert-level technical jargon into teachable, structured contentA solid understanding of industrial safety standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA, NFPA 70E)Professional certifications in maintenance-related disciplines (e.g., Electrical, HVAC, or Industrial Safety)Experience with virtual labs, AR/VR simulations, or SCORM/xAPI content developmentFamiliarity with competency-based education (CBE) and national credentialing frameworksCompany OverviewPer Scholas is proud to celebrate 30 years of fostering economic mobility by giving individuals from diverse backgrounds access to high-growth tech careers.
