Come join us!About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Taxonomist to design, develop, and maintain comprehensive taxonomic structures and the ongoing classification of content. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of information architecture, content organization, and metadata management, with a passion for creating intuitive and scalable knowledge frameworks. This role is critical in enhancing discoverability, improving user experience, and supporting efficient content management across our platforms and products.Who You AreEducation: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Library Science, Information Science, Information Management, or a related field.Experience: 1+ years of experience in taxonomy development, information architecture, knowledge management, or a similar role, preferably in market research.Technical Skills: Strong Computer Skills a must. Familiarity with content management systems (CMS), taxonomy management software and similar tools a plusAnalytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as research skills to drive content understanding.Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Collaboration: Proven ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and consistency.Time Management: Demonstrated ability to efficiently organize and complete tasks in a fast-paced environment.Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of specific industry-related ontologies or standards a plus.What You’ll DoClassification & Tagging: Consistent, accurate, and timely categorization of high volume of newly-loaded content, aided by maintaining robust classification rules, guidelines, and vocabularies.Taxonomy Development: Design, create, and evolve hierarchical, faceted, and other taxonomic structures to organize content types according to business needs and user behavior.Auditing & Optimization: Regularly audit existing taxonomies for effectiveness, identify gaps, redundancies, and opportunities for refinement, and lead continuous improvement initiatives.Collaborate: Work with sales and marketing to enhance discoverability of categorized content.Technology Efficiencies: Constant review of new approaches, with eye to more efficient and more accurate categorization of content.Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all taxonomic structures, guidelines, and processes.AlphaSense is an equal-opportunity employer.
