Job Title: Tax Reporting SpecialistJob Description

We are seeking a Tax Reporting Specialist who will manage and reconcile complex payroll tax returns, including Federal, State, SUI (State Unemployment Insurance), Local, and FUTA (Federal Unemployment Tax Act). The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in paying and filing these items. You will play a crucial role in researching payroll/tax system issues, providing recommendations, and training and mentoring co-workers. You will also be involved in the W-2 process and lead the implementation of approved process changes.
Responsibilities
• File and reconcile complex payroll tax returns for Federal, State, SUI, Local, and FUTA.
• Research payroll/tax system issues and provide recommendations to management.
• Train and mentor co-workers on tax reporting processes.
• Participate in the W-2 process.
• Recommend and lead the implementation of process improvements.
• Research and review payroll tax regulation changes for potential impacts.

Essential Skills
• Proficiency in Peoplesoft Payroll Tax and ADP Master Tax systems.
• Advanced Excel skills, including V-Lookups and Pivot Tables.
• Strong knowledge of tax law and accounting principles.
• Attention to detail and strong critical thinking abilities.
• Proficiency in conducting tax research.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• Effective mentoring abilities.
• Strong time management skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
• High School diploma/GED equivalent or higher with a minimum of 4 years multi-state/local tax and 1 year customer service experience, OR
• Associate degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management with a minimum of 4 years multi-state/local tax and 1 year customer service experience.
• Experience in recognizing and implementing process improvements.
• Quick adaptability to new processes and environments.

Work Environment

The Tax Reporting Specialist will collaborate with the tax team and internal business units. The work environment is positive and dynamic, offering opportunities to learn and grow. The team may also be involved in exciting projects such as mergers and acquisitions.
Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cleveland, OH.
Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $38.00/hr.
