Tax Preparer (Remote)
Premier Tax & Finance is an established tax and accounting firm located in Ventura County, California.
We are currently seeking a Tax Preparer for a remote position who is interested in building a long term working relationship with our firm during peak tax seasons (January–April and August–October).
This role works closely with the tax team to ensure the accurate and timely preparation and delivery of tax returns for a diverse client base. Candidates must have experience preparing and reviewing both individual and business tax returns, including but not limited to Forms 1040, 1120S, 1120, 1065, 568, 1041, 990, and 706.
Tax Preparer Responsibilities:
• Prepare and review federal & state tax returns for individuals and businesses including all associated schedules.
• Work with clients & bookkeepers to obtain tax information.
• Participate in a virtual weekly Tax Meeting via Microsoft Teams.
Skills and Qualifications:
• Must be an Enrolled Agent.
• Minimum of 7 recent years of experience in tax preparation.
• Proficient in preparing the following returns: 1040, 1120S, 1120, 1065, 568, 1041, 990, and 706. Expertise in preparing complex tax returns is desired.
• Experience using Tax Software preferably Drake.
• Must be able to analyze financial statements for accuracy and reasonableness.
• Must be able to reconcile the financials with the return.
• Ability to manage tax preparation and tax management software simultaneously.
• Great organizational skills, including time management and strategic thinking.
• Attention to detail, accuracy, and timely follow-up are essential.
Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15.0 – 25.0 per week
License/Certification:
• CPA or EA (Required)
