Tax Consultant - Indirect Tax Compliance
About the position
Seeking a Tax Consultant to support multi‑state sales and use tax compliance. This contract role involves preparing filings, maintaining exemption certificates, supporting audits, and working with leading tax technology platforms.
Responsibilities
• Prepare and file sales and use tax returns across multiple states
• Maintain exemption certificates and compliance documentation
• Support sales and use tax audits and reverse audits
• Configure and maintain tax engines (Vertex, Avalara, OneSource)
• Collaborate with Accounting, Procurement, A/R, and IT on tax matters
• Assist with system testing and process improvements
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of sales and use tax compliance experience
• Multi‑state and indirect tax experience.
• Experience with Vertex, Avalara, or OneSource
• Strong Excel and data analysis skills
Nice-to-haves
• Dynamics 365 experience is a plus
