Tax Associate – Enterprise Group
LGA, LLP is focused on their people and is seeking a Tax Associate in their Enterprise Group. The role involves preparing federal and state income tax returns for owner-managed small businesses, maintaining client records, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure compliance with tax regulations.ResponsibilitiesPrepare federal and state income tax returns, primarily for owner managed small business, their owners, and familiesPrepare, organize and maintain client records and workpapers that accurately support the tax return and related engagement workCollaborate with internal teams, conduct tax research, and apply tax laws and regulations to corporate, partnership, individual, estate, and trust tax filingsAssist with responses to client inquiries and tax notices under supervisionConduct basic tax research and document preliminary findings and understanding of the law to be discussed with supervisor(s)Communicates timely with supervisor(s) regarding questions, issues and identified matters to ensure resolution and that client deadlines and deliverables are met as well as personal goals for productivityProficiency in CCH Engagement, CCH Tax, Microsoft Office Suite, BNA IT Planner, CCH AnswerConnect, and other firm technologies to enhance client service and efficiencyOngoing commitment to continuing education and professional growth, seeks out formal, self-study, and on-the-job trainingStay current with industry and tax regulation developmentsSeeks out regular evaluations from supervisor(s)Demonstrates the ability to interact and communicate confidently and concisely with various levels of firm management in both written and verbal formProduces high quality work which adheres to the relevant professional standardsPrioritize and manage tasks while exercising professional skepticismExudes intellectual curiosity, has strong analytical and attention to detail skillsEmbrace new technological platforms and demonstrate a willingness to learnDevelops a more in-depth knowledge of federal, MA and multi-state tax issues, generally able complete more complex tax compliance projects with guidanceApply accounting principles effectively, recognizing misapplications in client-prepared documents and communicating issues appropriatelyApply industry knowledge to multiple clients and consider issues from various perspectivesSkillsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Taxation, or a related fieldProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)0-2 years' experience in a related fieldStrong organizational skills, detail oriented, and able to manage multiple deadlinesAbility to work with a sense of urgency and be flexible in tasks and time while managing your workload with adjustments to your schedule especially during peak workload times in the service lineContributes to a positive and collaborative work environment by upholding the firm's vision and valuesRespect for compliance and confidentialityMaster's degree in Accountancy or Tax or a plan to pursueCPA or EA certification or a plan to pursueExperience with the CCH Suite of Products (ProSystem fx Tax, Engagement, Document, Portal) is a plusComfortable working in a technology-driven, paperless environmentCompany OverviewLGA, LLP is an independent, full-service CPA and Business Advisory firm with over 45 years of experience in delivering financial focus to businesses.
