Our organization is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Tax Accountant to join our Finance team. This is a permanent, full-time role that offers a unique opportunity to play a significant role in our expanding business. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing tax returns, providing tax advice and support to our clients, and ensuring our company meets all its tax obligations. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is passionate about the finance industry, and has a strong background in public accounting.
Responsibilities:
As a Tax Accountant, your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
? Preparing federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, businesses, and organizations.
? Ensuring accurate, timely filing of consolidated federal, state, and local income tax returns and other business-related filings.
? Finding and implementing opportunities for process improvement in company tax procedures.
? Developing and implementing strategic tax planning for all necessary federal and state taxes.
? Managing members of the tax team as they prepare components of the company's US federal income tax return and state tax returns.
? Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and regulations, and ensuring company compliance.
? Advising management on the impact of new laws on tax liabilities.
? Coordinating audits by various taxation authorities.
? Negotiating with tax authorities over tax payment issues.
? Advising on tax implications of business investments and transactions.
Qualifications:
To be considered for the Tax Accountant position, you must possess the following:
? A minimum of 1 years of experience in a similar role.
? Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting is required.
? CPA or CPA Eligible is preferred, or someone who is interested long-term in obtaining their CPA
? At least 1 year of public accounting experience.
? At least 1 year of Tax Accounting experience.
? Experience with CCH Axcess or related tax software - we're in the midst of migrating to CCH currently!
? Strong analytical skills with the ability to research and analyze tax issues.
? Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
? Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
? Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects.
? Strong knowledge of tax code, compliance and procedures for corporations.
? Familiarity with U.S. federal, state, and local reporting requirements.
? Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly in Excel.
