Nonstop Administrator (Remote )
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITES:
ā¢ Mandatory skills and experience for Supplier:
ā¢ Demonstrated strong interpersonal and telephone skills
ā¢ Ability to work effectively with remote U.S. and offshore personnel
ā¢ Effective written and verbal communication skills
ā¢ Ability to work in a high-pressure environment
ā¢ Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks
ā¢ Demonstrated ability to adapt to a changing environment
ā¢ Ability to define, implement, and monitor process changes
ā¢ Problem-solving approach to resolve problems, improve processes, and increase productivity
ā¢ Generation of status reports
ā¢ Working with project schedules and timelines
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
ā¢ will provide the following services (collectively, the "Services") independently and on its own responsibility: Nonstop System Management Services
ā¢ Upgrade Nonstop Operating Systems (OS), includes adding SPRS, using DSM/SCM.
ā¢ Perform troubleshooting of Safeguard security setting and resolve issues, like incorrect disk file and volume rules.
ā¢ Perform cold load of a system from the console, locally or through remote desktop to NS Server.
ā¢ Document work performed in Help desk system, and in SharePoint files (like password or SYSNN change.)
ā¢ Complete software installations like: Web Viewpoint, Viewpoint, Remote Server Call,
ā¢ Safeguard addition of user-ids/groups, or deletion of user-ids/groups.
ā¢ Perform OSS software installations like: TMF, SQL/MX, ITP Webserver, JDBC and Tuxedo.
ā¢ Resolve telecommunications problems on the Nonstop Systems (FTP, Java, JDBC, Telnet, CLIM settings.)
ā¢ Clean up Guardian and OSS files from user-ids and/or groups & delete those user-ids/groups as projects complete.
ā¢ Upgraded firmware on CLIMs, including cold loads of CLIMs.
ā¢ Fix OSS problems with file and directory security.
ā¢ Install and configure a storage CLIM or ip CLIM
ā¢ Add or remove storage from a system
ā¢ Add or remove processors from a system
ā¢ Upgrade and downgrade firmware
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
ā¢ Expertise in Nonstop System Administration - Hardware and Software
ā¢ Familiar with Nonstop NextGen, NonStop Blade, and NonStop Integrity Systems.
ā¢ Knowledge and experience with vNonStop, and VMware a major plus.
ā¢ Knowledge of core NonStop products interacting with, SQL/MX, NSK, OSS and File System
