Role: Tandem/HP NonStop Engineer
Location: Remote (Berkeley Heights, NJ)
Long Term Contract - W2 / C2C
Core Skills & Experience:
ā¢ 7+ years of software development in enterprise environments, preferably large financial institutions, banks, or payment systems.
ā¢ Strong hands-on experience with Tandem / HP NonStop systems (critical for transaction processing environments).
ā¢ Proficiency in COBOL and TAL (Transaction Application Language) development.
ā¢ Prior experience designing, developing, and maintaining large-scale, mission-critical applications (e.g., high-volume transaction processing).
ā¢ Solid knowledge of data replication and synchronization tools - especially Shadowbase or Oracle GoldenGate.
ā¢ Strong problem-solving and debugging skills in complex legacy systems.
ā¢ Ability to work in cross-functional teams with business and technology stakeholders.
ā¢ Strong communication and documentation skills.
Additional Nice-to-Have Skills:
ā¢ Familiarity with fault-tolerant systems and high availability architectures.
ā¢ Experience in financial services, payments, or capital markets (since Tandem/HP NonStop is widely used there).
ā¢ Knowledge of SQL/Enscribe database environments on Tandem systems.
ā¢ Good understanding of system performance tuning, troubleshooting, and production support.
