Position
Senior Rust Full-Stack Engineer ā AI Data & Infrastructure
Type: Contract, Remote Commitment: 20ā40 hours/week Compensation: Competitive, hourly (based on experience)
Role Responsibilities
ā¢ Design, build, and optimize high-performance systems in Rust supporting AI data pipelines and evaluation workflows
ā¢ Develop full-stack tooling and backend services for large-scale data annotation, validation, and quality control
ā¢ Improve reliability, performance, and safety across existing Rust codebases
ā¢ Collaborate with data, research, and engineering teams to support model training and evaluation workflows
ā¢ Identify bottlenecks and edge cases in data and system behavior, and implement scalable fixes
ā¢ Participate in synchronous reviews to iterate on system design and implementation decisions
Qualifications
Must-Have
ā¢ Native or fluent English speaker
ā¢ 3-5+ years of professional experience writing production Rust.
ā¢ Strong command of Rust lifetimes, ownership mechanics, and idiomatic error handling patterns to ensure pipeline reliability.
ā¢ Experience building I/O-bound data pipelines and implementing robust retry/backoff logic for production systems.
ā¢ Clear written and verbal communication skills.
ā¢ Ability to commit 20ā40 hours per week.
Preferred
ā¢ Prior experience with data annotation, data quality, or evaluation systems
ā¢ Familiarity with AI/ML workflows, model training, or benchmarking pipelines
ā¢ Experience with distributed systems or developer tooling
