Systems Engineer/SEDB Administrator

The Systems Engineer/SEDB Administrator will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing the requirements management database, providing guidance on systems engineering documentation, and ensuring compliance with vendor license agreements.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for Metadata management and repository utilizationAssist other System Engineers with Schema development, development of scripts or automations as directed, performance management, cloud instantiation, maintenance, and database backupProvide guidance to engineering design efforts through the development of systems engineering documentation, including concepts of operations, requirements specifications, requirements verification constructs (RVTM), interface requirements and interface control documents and drawingsProvide Subject Matter Expertise relating to systems modeling utilizing SYSML and UMLCreate users’ profiles and ensure system security by careful allocation of user permissionsCreate and modify project schema structureConstruct project queries and views for all phases of the project lifecycleConfigure and maintain workflows, this includes identifying opportunities to improve workflows through automation and custom developmentInstall and upgrade SEDB server and client installationEnsure compliance with SEDB vendor license agreement, including number of installations, and monitoring licensing renewalsMonitor and optimize SEDB system performance using manual or automated toolsPerform and coordinate system upgrades across divisions and various IT groups and implement security polices as neededAdditional System Engineering duties assignedSkillsBS degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Information Technology or Naval Engineering. Relevant experience may be substituted for academic qualificationsStrong knowledge of Microsoft 365 products (i.e. MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Power Point)Strong understanding of requirements management principles and best practices, including requirements allocation and derivation, 'shredding' of standards into a digital equivalentExcellent knowledge of either 3SL Cradle or Jama Connect features and functionalities, and experience with configuring data queries, workflows, custom fields, and integrationsMinimum 1-5 years of experience with: Contributing to the development of sections of systems engineering documentation, including system engineering plans, initial Capabilities documents, requirements specifications, and interface control documentsManaging system requirements and derived requirements to ensure the delivery of production systems that are compatible with the defined system architectures, including Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) and Service-oriented Architecture (SOA)Assisting with the development of system requirements, functional requirements, and allocation of the same to individual hardware, software, facility, and personnel componentsSystem requirements and stakeholder needs, including functions that may be logically inferred and implied, as essential to system effectivenessMinimum 1-5 years' experience with an SEDB tool preferably Jama-ConnectSchema developmentDocument import and export, linkingReport generationDatabase managementDatabase administrationWorking knowledge of other SEDB tools (Cameo, DOORS etc)Candidate will have to perform in an ISO-9000 rated company in a rapidly changing and demanding atmosphereStrong problem-solving and analytical skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a teamDemonstrates ability to devise innovative solutions to problemsMust be a US Citizen and be able to obtain a security clearanceSome travel may be requiredWork experience with US Department of Defense programs & projectsBenefitsHealth and WellnessMental HealthRetirement SavingsLife and DisabilityPaid Maternity and Parental LeavePaid Time OffTuition ReimbursementEmployee Assistance ProgramCompany OverviewOceaneering is a global oilfield provider of engineered services and products primarily to the offshore oil and gas industry.
