Discover your opportunities at Yale!Overview1.Provides technical expertise in resolving user system deficiencies and determines appropriate action.2.Provides system services and analyze system performance for stakeholders and intended end users. Performs all activities necessary to activate a new operating system or new release of an existing system, including analysis, design, implementation, and related documentation. Analyzes systems performance and modifies programs to increase the efficiency of the operation. Reinstates integrity of system as quickly as possible following an outage in order to minimize item and data loss.3.Recommends and authorizes system upgrades and software installations.4.Designs, develops and implements new system tools.5. Analyzes execution time of commonly used instruction to identify and replaces those that are inefficient or slow to operation. 6. Analyzes, evaluates and takes steps to circumvent problems and restores systems to operating condition. Required Skills and Abilities1. Developed understanding of computer architecture, operating systems, and data structures 2. Developed understanding of software engineering best practices 3. Developed analytical, critical thinking, research, and problem-solving skills 4. Developed interpersonal, written, communication, presentation, and organizational skills 5. Ability to write precise, detailed technical specs and documentation Principal Responsibilities 1. Develop or modify moderately complex software programming applications from specifications.
2. Monitor, support, and troubleshoot IT infrastructure, ensuring adherence to standards and service level objectives.
3. Analyze and prepare reports on performance metrics.
4. Implement and support robust and secure IT solution.
5. Draw on relationship and technical skills to act as technical liaison to internal and external stakeholders.
6. Serve as a technical liaison; support & collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
7. Contribute to development & implementation of best practices.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree and four years of experience or equivalent education and experience.

Skills and Abilities

Developed understanding of computer architecture, operating systems, and data structures.

Developed understanding of software engineering best practices.

Developed analytical, critical thinking, research, and problem-solving skills.

Developed interpersonal, written, communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
