Technical Description:
The successful candidate will perform systems analysis and design to improve integration, functionality, and performance of enterprise IT solutions for the Department of the Interior (DoI) Human Resources Directorate (HRD), Human Resources Systems Management Division (HRMSD). The candidate will create, modify, and support the evolution of systems and families of systems for the DoI. They will support API design, development, and integration, including assisting with the adoption of REST, SOAP, and secure data exchange protocols; support the use of tools such as the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, Swagger, and Postman plus development environments including GitHub, PHP, Java, SQL, and Lucee ColdFusion; and analyze business data processing problems to develop and implement solutions for enterprise applications and system integration challenges.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will perform functional duties such as:Perform systems integration functions across heterogeneous platforms, including legacy and cloud-based environments.
Identify and mitigate system performance bottlenecks and limitations.
Assist with the design of enterprise systems to ensure scalability, interoperability, and secure data flow between HRMSD and external systems.
Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into system specifications and architectural solutions.
Develop and implement enterprise-level strategies for software, hardware, and network optimization.
Evaluate and recommend software and COTS solutions, ensuring compatibility with HRMSD’s technical architecture.
Review and enhance system workflows, including automation and data exchange processes.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.

Professional Certifications Required:
None required

Clearance Requirements:
Currently possesses or can obtain a Public Trust position based on a favorable National Agency Check Investigation (NAC-I)

Years of Experience Required:
8+ years of directly applicable experience performing software development

Citizenship Requirements:
Must be a US citizen

Must be a self-starter with strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities; strong communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder interaction; self-motivated with strong time management skills for sprint-based deliverables; adaptability to changing priorities and evolving government requirements; detail-oriented approach to code quality and security compliance; and strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to present clearly.

Working conditions:
Fully Remote
Client duty hours (Monday through Friday).

Salary:
$110-$120k
