SVP, Claims – FULLY REMOTE – Property

Overview SVP, Claims – FULLY REMOTE – Property at Oliver James. This role is responsible for building the claims business from scratch, including creating and implementing all claims operations, controls and processes. The SVP – Claims will recruit and lead a claims team and ensure claims is a successful part of the overall business strategy. The role also involves managing high‑level TPA relationships and serving as the lead sign‑off for home-owners and commercial property claims across the US. This insurer is heavily focused on technology and innovation, so a forward-thinking leader with experience in this area is desired. Salary and remote work : This role can be FULLY REMOTE with a base salary up to $240,000 plus 20-40% annual bonus and other long-term incentives. Note: we can only consider candidates with extensive senior leadership experience within property claims (non-auto claims). Responsibilities Build the claims business from scratch, including creating and implementing all claims operations, controls and processes. Recruit, lead and develop a high-performing property claims team. Ensure claims is aligned with and contributes to the overall business strategy. Manage high-level TPA relationships and act as the lead sign-off for home-owners and commercial property claims across the US. Drive technology-focused improvements and innovations within the claims function. Qualifications 10+ years of senior claims leadership experience within property claims (including leading managers). 10+ years in strategic claims roles with responsibility for change and transformation. Experience working for an insurtech or technology-focused insurance organization. Experience building claims teams and being responsible for business and claims growth. Ability to create and implement operational strategy across a large claims team. Strong data and analytics experience related to claims performance and market trends. Strong TPA management experience with a focus on HO/Commercial property claims.
