Surgical Tech - First Assist

We re seeking skilled professionals with a passion for excellence in surgical care. As a Surgical Technologist - First Assist, you will directly support surgeons during procedures, ensuring optimal patient outcomes in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties:

•Assist the surgical team by directly supporting surgeons during procedures, including suturing and tissue manipulation.

•Provide hands-on assistance with positioning and draping patients for surgery.

•Ensure surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies are prepared and functional.

•Monitor and maintain the sterile field while adhering to strict aseptic techniques.

•Collaborate with the surgical team during intraoperative and post-operative phases.

•Document surgical procedures accurately and help manage inventory.

Responsibilities:

•Provide critical first-assist functions, such as retracting tissues, closing incisions, and controlling bleeding.

•Anticipate the surgeon s needs to ensure smooth procedural flow.

•Position and stabilize surgical devices when needed.

•Participate in pre- and post-operative briefings to optimize care delivery.

•Stay up-to-date on the latest surgical techniques and technologies.

Requirements:

• Certification: Certified Surgical Technologist - First Assist (CST-FA) preferred or completion of an accredited first-assist program.

• Licensure: Active certification and licensure as required by Texas state regulations.

• Education: Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.

• Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years assisting in surgical settings preferred.

• Skills: Advanced knowledge of surgical instruments, techniques, and operating room protocols.
