About the position

The part-time Supervisor at Barnes & Noble College plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service while overseeing team members in various departments. This position requires adaptability and resourcefulness, as the Supervisor will assist management and act as the Manager-on-Duty in their absence, ensuring operational efficiency and a positive shopping experience for customers in an educational retail environment.

Responsibilities
? Spend the majority of time on the sales floor delivering, coaching, and modeling exceptional customer service.

? Train and oversee the daily work activity of team members in one or more departments.
,
? Maintain a working knowledge of all departments to provide support and guidance to customers and team members.
,
? Help resolve customer issues and complaints, escalating problems to management when necessary.
,
? Assist in the daily operation of the store in partnership with the management team.
,
? Act as the Manager-on-Duty in the absence of the manager or at satellite locations.
,
? Assign work and provide focused direction to team members to manage multiple projects.
,
? Process sales transactions involving cash, credit, or financial aid payments as needed.

Requirements
? 2+ years' experience in a retail setting preferred.
,
? Minimum of 18 years of age to be considered for employment.
,
? High school diploma or GED preferred.
,
? Outstanding customer service skills to match customers to products.
,
? Basic reading, writing, and accounting skills required.
,
? Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
,
? Strong problem-solving skills.
,
? Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
