Supervisor, Coding and Auditing (Remote)

Remote Full-time
Now Hiring: Supervisor, Coding & Auditing

Are you a certified coding professional with a passion for leadership, compliance, and continuous improvement? We’re looking for a Supervisor, Coding & Auditing to lead our clinic health record coding team and drive excellence across quality, compliance, and revenue integrity.

In this role, you’ll oversee day-to-day coding operations, support and develop a high-performing team, and ensure accurate, compliant, and timely coding that directly impacts patient care and organizational success.

If you thrive in a collaborative healthcare environment and enjoy mentoring others while strengthening systems and processes — this could be the opportunity for you.

What You’ll Do

As Supervisor, Coding & Auditing, you will:
• Lead and develop physician coding staff, including orientation, training, performance development, competency assessment, and disciplinary actions
• Educate coding team members and healthcare professionals on coding guidelines, documentation best practices, and compliance standards
• Oversee the coding of patient encounters and conduct internal audits to ensure accuracy and integrity
• Ensure timely completion of coding and charge entry within the revenue cycle
• Establish and maintain a formalized coding compliance review and audit process
• Design and implement audit tools to monitor clinical coding accuracy
• Monitor Medicare and other payer updates, including OIG work plans, to proactively identify risk areas
• Perform outpatient data quality reviews to validate ICD, CPT, and HCPCS coding
• Evaluate visit code selection for appropriateness and assist in developing facility-specific criteria
• Identify trends, provider benchmarks, and payer denial patterns — and collaborate on solutions to improve outcomes
• Promote employee engagement, patient satisfaction, process improvement, and workplace safety
• Serve as a key resource and liaison across healthcare disciplines to ensure accurate and complete coding and reporting

What You Bring
• High school diploma or GED
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent credential
• 5+ years of coding experience
• 3+ years of leadership experience (leading teams and/or projects)
• Strong knowledge of coding systems, federal compliance requirements, and revenue cycle processes
• A collaborative mindset and commitment to quality and continuous improvement

Work Environment
• Primarily office-based in a climate-controlled environment
• Frequent computer and keyboard use
• Regular sitting with movement throughout the office
• Ability to move freely and lift up to 25 pounds
• Not exposed to bloodborne pathogens in this role

Why This Role Matters

Accurate coding drives compliance, protects revenue, and supports quality patient care. In this leadership position, you’ll directly influence team performance, operational efficiency, and organizational integrity.

If you’re ready to lead, mentor, and make a measurable impact, we’d love to connect.
