What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Supervise coders and assist with training new staff while managing workload goals and performance standards
- Collaborate with the coding manager on scheduling, payroll, and physician education
- Perform production coding as needed to support the team
- Build strong relationships and facilitate communication between key stakeholders and support departments
- Identify and monitor workflow processes to implement improvements and resolve issues
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Associate's Degree in a Health Information related field or 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a production coder, including assigning ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT/HCPCS codes
- Excellent organizational and project management skills
- At least 1 year in a leadership role overseeing staff and/or processes
- Professional Coding Certification
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with coding team management or operational oversight in a healthcare setting
- Familiarity with revenue cycle processes and performance indicators
