Position Summary: This position will support the team in delivering innovative, cost-effective, and clinically appropriate medication management solutions for health systems clients. This role will provide hands-on experience in assisting health system clients in understanding benefit design, including formulary management, utilization review, and lowest net cost strategies within a dynamic healthcare environment. What you will do: Pharmacy Analytics and Cost Management: • Analyze drug utilization and cost trends to identify opportunities for savings and improved patient outcomes • Research new drug approvals, pipeline products, and clinical guidelines to inform PBM strategies • Prepare reports and presentations for internal stakeholders and health system clients Formulary and Clinical Program Support: • Assist with formulary development and maintenance, including drug evaluations and therapeutic class reviews • Support the implementation of clinical programs such as prior authorization, step therapy, and medication adherence initiatives • Participate in specialty pharmacy and integrated delivery network projects to optimize medication access and reduce costs Collaboration and Strategic Partnerships: • Collaborate with AffirmedRx stewards and health system partners to deliver prescription drug coverage at the lowest net cost • Support cross-functional initiatives focused on improving clinical outcomes and cost efficiency What you need: • Currently enrolled in an ACPE-accredited PharmD program • Strong interest in managed care pharmacy, PBM operations, and health system integration • Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; familiarity with data analysis tools is a plus • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment What you get: • Exposure to real-world PBM strategies impacting health systems and patient care • Hands-on experience with clinical decision-making and cost-containment programs • Networking with pharmacy leaders, health system executives, and managed care professionals • Experience across multiple high functioning PBM teams, including Sales, Operations, and Clinical teams. • To impact industry change in the pharmacy benefits management space, while delivering the highest quality patient outcomes • To work in a culture where people thrive because when OUR team thrives, OUR business thrives Other Position Details: • $17 - $18 per hour, depending on experience • 25-40 hours per week (flexible, Monday through Friday, based on scheduling) • 2 full months – June 1st, 2026 through August 7th, 2026 • End of internship presentation to company leadership (last week) • First round interviews will begin mid-January Note: AffirmedRx is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment.
