They are seeking a Structural Engineer to originate and check structural engineering deliverables, coordinate with other engineering disciplines, and prepare technical reports related to design issues.ResponsibilitiesParticipates in the design, development, modification, and evaluation of Civil/Structural components and processesPrepares or participates in preparation of construction drawings, project schedules, graphic presentations, civil drawings, steel and concrete calculations, and material requisitionsChecks manufacturersâ drawings and data for compliance with specification and design drawingsProvides input to and/or maintains technical logs and recordsCoordinates work and collaborates with other engineering disciplinesCoordinates development and presentation of material when requestedAssists in constructability reviewsPlans civil/structural layout, prepares detailed civil/structural design and layout drawings for small structures, portions of major buildings, roadways, railroads, etcDetermines the appropriate use of various structural elements such as steel, wood, masonry, and concrete to ensure appropriate material is used based on load or stress requirementsPrepares building material interface details for review by senior personnelParticipates in reviews and recommends approval of design drawings and data for compliance with requirementsPrepares civil/structural designs and construction drawings using 2-D / 3-D computer aided design (CAD), presentation graphics and civil models and codesPrepares procurement and subcontract requisition documents and performs associated technical bid evaluations with award recommendationsSkillsBachelors in Structural/Civil Engineering from an accredited university or college with 1-2 years of experience or 5-6 years of relevant work experienceBachelors in Structural/Civil Engineering from an accredited university or college and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experienceMust be authorized to work and remain in the United States without Bechtel visa sponsorship now or in the futureMust be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical (if located at the construction site), and background check which includes verification of employment and educationMust be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford SiteNon-U.S. citizens from countries identified by the Department of Energy as posing heightened security concernsâincluding sensitive countries, state sponsors of terrorism, countries of risk, and other designated countries âare subject to additional security requirements that limit site accessCareer development position within fieldContinues to learn and apply professional conceptsApplies company policies & procedures to resolve mostly routine issuesDeveloping professional expertise, applies company policies & procedures to resolve a variety of issuesBenefitsComprehensive medical, dental, and vision plansOptional disability and supplemental insurance optionsGenerous paid time off (160 hours annually, accrued 6.16 hours per pay period)Nine paid holidaysPaid parental leaveDiscretionary bonusesWell-designed 401K plan with matching and profit-sharing componentsCompany OverviewBechtel is a construction company that offers engineering, construction, and project management solutions to its customers.
