Storyboard Director - Primetime Animated Series

Storyboard DirectorReports to: Episode Director and ProducerBento Box is looking for experienced Storyboard Directors for a very successful animated seriesthat combines adult comedy with strong musical foundations, layered with dark horror elements and emotional storytelling.The show mixes sharp humor with sincere human drama, creating a bold and original viewing experience.We are seeking Storyboard Directors with a strong sense of posing and timing, who can elevate sequences through dynamic musical or action-driven storytelling. Ideal candidates will also have the ability to broaden scene staging to achieve a more cinematic and impactful visual presentation. A strong sense of humor is a valued asset, particularly for enhancing comedic sequences.This role involves close creative collaboration with the showrunner and episode director to revise or block out shots sequences in a way that balances creative intent with production feasibility. Responsibilities: Lead a team of storyboard artists to produce storyboards for the series while providing guidance and feedback throughout the storyboard creation processCollaborate with the Creator/Show Runner, Producers and Director to ensure the series vision is met while maintaining quality and continuity of storyboards across the showRead and review scripts and identify potential storyboard challengesCreate rough thumbnails for scenes with complex action or a specific visionReview and revise storyboards as necessary and allocate revisions to the teamImplement all executive notesCreate rough animatic assemblies for review stagesRegular check in with team members to ensure tasks are understood and deadlines are being metCheck in with Coordinators for updated designs and audioResponsible for completing assignments on scheduleWork closely with other departments, such as animation and design, to ensure the smooth transition from storyboards to final productionStrive for excellent communication within teamWilling to be amenable with working hours to accommodatethe different timezonesthat you will be overseeing Qualifications: 5+ years experience storyboarding in episodic series animation, preferably in comedyExperience leading teams and facilitating productive team environmentsDemonstrated ability to deliver, receive and respond to feedbackStrong proficiency in Storyboard ProComfortable working digitally on a CintiqExcellent organizational, time management and project management skillsStrong written and verbal skills and confident presentation skillsAbility to adapt to changes easily within a highly dynamic environmentStrong attention to detail is criticalAbility to work within a team-oriented environment
