STATE ACTIVISM COORDINATOR
Overview of the Position
The State Activism Coordinator is a part-time (approximately 20 hours per week) employee responsible for the direct mobilization, development, and management of activists within an assigned state. This role serves as the primary field representative of the Activism Department, working directly with Minute Men, dues-paying members, campus chapters, and community chapters to advance organizational priorities and Advocacy objectives.

The State Activism Coordinator reports directly to the Activism Director.

Field Mobilization & Action

Organize and execute advocacy campaigns within the assigned state.
Mobilize Minute Men and dues-paying members to participate in legislative and grassroots efforts.
Coordinate activist participation in state-level campaigns, events, and initiatives.
Ensure activists understand and complete assigned actions.
Maintain regular communication with activists regarding opportunities for involvement.
Host activism events designed to increase engagement and activist participation.
Advocacy is consistently generated through activist participation.
Activists regularly complete assigned advocacy actions.
State-level activism goals are met or exceeded.
Activism events are conducted regularly and contribute directly to departmental KPIs.

Member Development & Relationship Management

Maintain regular contact with assigned activists and members.
Build relationships through calls, meetings, events, and direct outreach.
Identify activists with leadership potential.
Support activist growth and advancement within the organization.
Recruit and develop new Minute Men.
Minute Men growth targets are achieved.
Dues-paying member recruitment goals are achieved.
Activists remain engaged and active within the organization.
New leaders are consistently identified and developed.

Chapter Development & Management
20%
Develop and support campus chapters and community chapters.
Maintain regular communication with chapter leaders.
Assist chapters with recruitment, activism planning, and organizational development.
Help establish new chapters in strategic locations throughout the state.
Ensure chapter leaders have access to organizational resources and support.
New chapter formation goals are achieved.
Existing chapters remain active and engaged.
Chapter leaders receive consistent support and development.
Chapters contribute to activist recruitment and Advocacy action efforts.

Compliance, Training & Department Participation
10%
Complete all required lobbying compliance training.
Maintain any required lobbying registrations and reporting requirements.
Attend all required departmental meetings and trainings.
Remain informed regarding organizational priorities and state-level legislative activities.
Lobbying registrations are submitted accurately and on time.
Compliance requirements remain current and complete.
Attendance at weekly Activism Department calls is maintained.
Coordinator remains in good standing with all organizational requirements.

Reporting & Accountability
10%
Maintain records of activist engagement, chapter activity, and advocacy participation.
Provide regular reports to the Activism Director.
Utilize departmental systems for tracking and accountability.
Track progress toward assigned goals and KPIs.
Eagles, Minute Men, DPMs, chapter growth, and activist participation are accurately tracked.
Data remains current and actionable.
Leadership has clear visibility into state performance.
Assigned KPI targets are regularly monitored and reported.

Qualifications for the position
Activism Mindset: Strong interest in grassroots activism, Advocacy organizing, and advancing liberty.
Relationship Building: Ability to build and maintain relationships with activists, members, and chapter leaders.
Leadership Potential: Demonstrated ability to motivate, organize, and develop volunteers.
Recruitment: Comfortable recruiting activists, members, and chapter leaders.
Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Organization: Ability to manage multiple projects, activists, and priorities simultaneously.
Accountability: Willingness to take ownership of assigned goals and performance metrics.
Event Management: Ability to organize and execute activism events, meetings, and mobilization efforts.
Political Acumen: Basic understanding of grassroots pressure tactics, legislative advocacy, and political engagement.
Technology: Comfortable using CRM systems, spreadsheets, and organizational tracking tools.
Compliance: Ability to complete required lobbying compliance training and registration requirements accurately and on time.
Alignment: Strong commitment to Young Americans for Liberty's mission, vision, and culture.
Professionalism: Represents the organization positively when interacting with activists, legislators, chapters, and community partners.
Grit: Maintains enthusiasm, persistence, and performance in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during events, tabling, and canvassing activities.
Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 30 pounds.
Ability to travel regularly throughout the assigned state.
