The Wyanoke Group is seeking a curious and driven Staff Writer to join their Orthopedics news team. In this role, you will produce timely news articles and features on clinical breakthroughs and medical policies, while collaborating with various sources and adapting to a fast-paced newsroom environment.ResponsibilitiesWrite daily medical news articles and journal summaries for both online and print platformsPitch timely and relevant story ideas that align with physician audience interestsConduct interviews with key opinion leaders, researchers and industry representatives to inform and enhance medical news coverageAttend major medical conferences and provide real-time coverage of breaking research and expert insightsDevelop and maintain strong relationships with sources, including physicians, researchers and Editorial Board membersCollaborate with other staff to create supporting visuals, including infographics and photos, for visual storytellingTake on special assignments and cover stories as directed by the Executive or Managing EditorAdapt to a fast-paced newsroom environment, consistently meeting deadlines and maintaining editorial accuracySkills1-3 years of professional writing experience, ideally in a newsroom, medical publication or medical communications environmentStrong command of grammar, usage and journalistic style, with proficiency in Microsoft Word and digital content toolsDetail and deadline-oriented mindset, with proven ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneouslyWillingness to work occasional weekends and travel for coverage of major medical conferences and eventsAbility to thrive independently, but also collaborate well within a teamBachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Communications or related fieldBenefitsEmployees are eligible to enroll in our health insurance package, which includes medical, pharmacy, dental, and an FSA plan.Life insurance401kGenerous Paid Time Off (PTO) planPaid holidaysFlexible work scheduleCompany OverviewThe Wyanoke Group is a holding company which through its subsidiaries publishes healthcare information and education products It was founded in 2007, and is headquartered in Thorofare, New Jersey, USA, with a workforce of 201-500 employees.
