Position Overview As a Staff UI Engineer at Nexla , you will be a technical leader responsible for architecting and building the next generation of our user-facing platform that democratizes data operations for teams worldwide. You'll lead the design and implementation of complex, scalable frontend systems that make sophisticated data integration accessible through intuitive, powerful interfaces. Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership & Architecture Lead the architectural design and implementation of complex frontend systems and components across Nexla 's data integration platform Drive technical decisions for frontend architecture, including state management, component design patterns, performance optimization, and scalability strategies Establish and champion engineering best practices, coding standards, and development workflows for the frontend team Mentor and guide senior engineers, providing technical direction and fostering a culture of engineering excellence Product Development Build sophisticated, intuitive user interfaces for complex data integration workflows, making enterprise-grade capabilities accessible to both technical and non-technical users Design and implement interactive data visualization components, real-time monitoring dashboards, and collaborative data management interfaces Develop responsive, accessible, and performant web applications that handle large-scale data operations and complex user workflows Partner closely with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to deliver seamless end-to-end user experiences Architect reusable component libraries and design systems that scale across multiple product areas and teams Implement robust error handling, loading states, and edge case management for mission-critical data operations Build sophisticated drag-and-drop interfaces, visual pipeline builders, and no-code/low-code development experiences Optimize application performance for handling large datasets, real-time updates, and complex data transformations Team Impact & Collaboration Lead cross-functional initiatives and collaborate with Backend, DevOps, and AI teams to deliver integrated solutions Drive technical roadmap planning and contribute to product strategy decisions from a frontend perspective Conduct thorough code reviews, provide technical mentorship, and contribute to hiring and onboarding processes Represent frontend engineering in architectural discussions and technical planning sessions Innovation & Continuous Improvement Research and evaluate emerging frontend technologies, frameworks, and tools to enhance our development capabilities Lead initiatives to improve developer experience, build tooling, and engineering productivity Drive improvements in application security, accessibility, and performance monitoring Required Qualifications Experience & Technical Expertise 8+ years of frontend development experience with deep expertise in modern JavaScript/TypeScript and web technologies 5+ years experience with React, including advanced patterns like hooks, context, state management libraries (Redux, Zustand, etc.) 3+ years in a senior or staff-level role with demonstrated technical leadership experience Strong proficiency in modern CSS, responsive design, and frontend build tools (Webpack, Vite, etc.) Technical Skills Expert-level knowledge of JavaScript ES6+, TypeScript, and modern frontend development practices Deep understanding of React ecosystem, including state management, routing, testing frameworks, and performance optimization Experience with data visualization libraries (D3.js, Chart.js, Recharts) and building complex, interactive visualizations Proficiency in frontend testing strategies including unit testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing Strong understanding of web performance optimization, accessibility standards (WCAG), and SEO best practices Architecture & Leadership Proven experience architecting large-scale frontend applications and component-based design systems Strong understanding of API integration, RESTful services, GraphQL, and real-time data handling (WebSockets, Server-Sent Events) Experience with micro-frontend architectures, module federation, or similar distributed frontend patterns Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and drive technical standards across teams Domain Knowledge Experience building complex enterprise applications, developer tools, or data management platforms Understanding of user experience principles and ability to collaborate effectively with design teams Familiarity with agile development methodologies and modern software development lifecycle practices Preferred Qualifications Experience with data visualization, analytics platforms, or business intelligence tools Knowledge of backend technologies and full-stack development capabilities Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and understanding of deployment and CI/CD processes Background in building no-code/low-code platforms or visual programming interfaces Experience with real-time collaborative applications and conflict resolution strategies Contributions to open-source projects or technical
