Staff / Tax Accountant (Remote)

Job Overview:We are seeking a skilled CPA or EA to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and tax regulations, with a focus on providing accurate and timely tax and accounting services to clients. This position is 100% remote and schedule is very flexible. Applicant must be able to work autonomously and possess excellent time management. Candidate must be able to work well with individuals and business clients to provide tax and business guidance. Some general bookkeeping and clean up will be required. Pay is dependent upon experience and qualifications.Duties:- Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, businesses, and organizations- Conduct research on tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance- Assist clients with tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities- Analyze financial data to prepare accurate tax provisions- Communicate with clients to address tax-related questions and concerns- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulationsSkills:- Proficiency in Quickbooks and other similar software- Strong technical accounting skills- Ability to perform financial analysis and interpret financial reports- Solid understanding of accounting principles.- Experience with Drake Tax Software is a plus but not required.- While there is no requirement that the applicant live in Alabama, a knowledge of AL tax laws is considered a plus.We're a boutique, fully remote accounting firm with a focus on helping individuals and small to mid-sized businesses thrive.
