Job Overview: Staff Engineer, Workflow Platform [REMOTE]
We're seeking an experienced and talented Staff Engineer to join our team of innovators. As a Staff Engineer, you will play a critical role in driving our insurance business transformation by developing and implementing technical foundations that unlock agility and functionality for our customers. You will work closely with both technical and business teams to design, deliver, and maintain high-quality technology products and services that exceed our customers' expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide technical leadership to engineering teams and focus on multiple areas to deliver exceptional results
Own complete solutions across their entire life cycle, from design to delivery and maintenance
Envision, design, and deliver platform capabilities that enrich our tech ecosystem and provide a frictionless experience for our customers
Influence and build vision with product managers, team members, customers, and other engineering teams to solve complex problems and build enterprise-class business applications
Accountable for the quality, usability, and performance of solutions, ensuring they meet the highest standards of protection and availability
Lead design sessions and code reviews to elevate the quality of engineering across the organization and share best practices to improve processes
Mentor junior team members to help them realize their full potential and consistently share knowledge and expertise to enhance the team's capabilities
Utilize programming languages like Java, .NET, SQL, and NoSQL databases, Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, and a variety of Azure tools and services to deliver innovative solutions


Essential Qualifications:

Fluency and specialization in at least two modern languages, including object-oriented design
Experience in building products using microservices architecture and extensible GraphQL and gRPC APIs
Experience building the architecture and design of new and current systems, including reliability and scaling
Experience with continuous delivery and infrastructure as code, as well as DevOps concepts and cloud architecture
Fluency in Azure DevOps Operational Framework and experience with application monitoring tools and performance assessments
Experience with security protocols and products, including Active Directory, Windows Authentication, SAML, and OAuth
In-depth knowledge of CS data structures and algorithms, as well as strong problem-solving abilities
Ability to excel in a fast-paced, startup-like environment and knowledge of developer tooling across the software development life cycle


Preferred Qualifications:

6+ years of professional software development experience within a Java, .NET, or Go framework
4+ years of experience in open-source frameworks and 6+ years of experience with architecture and design
6+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service, as well as experience with commercial cloud environments
BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary range of $115,000.00 - $230,000.00 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
